Women in STEM/STEAM: Career Development


Medesthai is a partnered with Inova in EU Mentor STEM, to establish a career development workshop and mentoring scheme in London to promote migrant women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), with integration of Art & Design (STEAM).

This is one of several simultaneously-run "sister sites" in 5 countries, with support from Erasmus+ , which also supports STEM to STEAM initiatives. .

Eligibility of participants: women who were not born in the UK (highly skilled migrants) with a STEM background, who are either

  • no longer working in STEM but would like to return to STEM (e.g. career break, just moved to the UK, etc) or

  • looking to develop / further their careers (e.g. looking to set up a business in STEM, changing employers, applying for a promotion).

At this stage, the London pilot is by invitation only.

FAQs

Who are the lead sponsors and partners this project?

This project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. A lead contractor is the University of Bologna, Università di Bologna Dipartimento di Scienze Aziendali.

All partners are members of WiTEC – the European association for Women in STEM, strengthening women's motivation, innovation and creativity by being the natural partner between industry, academia and society. This network of companies, universities, organisations and individual members, with coordinators across Europe, promote activities relating to empowering women in STEM.

The participation of all partners is propelled by a common desire to develop, transfer and test materials that can be implemented in ongoing and future international activities.
